ABB DCS 800xA OPC integration with Honeywell
We want to set up the integration between ABB DCS (Server) and Honeywell DCS (Client) using OPC protocol. Please advise how to design the architecture for the OPC integration between 2 DCS.
ABB system architecture consists of ABB PLC's, Connectivity servers (redundant), Aspect Servers (redundant), Domain Controllers (redundant) and local HMI"s.
Honeywell system consists of Experion Servers (redundant), Domain controllers (redundant) and operator stations.
AB systems and Honeywell systems are on different Domain and are connected through the L2 network switch. This ABB DCS is controlling only the Turbine package controls, where as Honeywell DCS controls the entire plant and hence ABB DCS is small subset of Honeywell DCS.
My questions are below:
1). If we have to make Honeywell DCS as OPC client, does it point to the Connectivity server or Aspect server for OPC Server connection?
2). Honeywell DCS network is 10.X.X.X and ABB DCS network is 172.16.X.X. If we have to set up the OPC integration between Honeywell server and ABB Connectivity/Aspect server, does the ABB server have to be made dual homed machine or do we need the router in between? Please advise.
3). Is it possible to set up the OPC integration over cross domain network?
4). If we change the DCOM settings in ABB Connectivity/Aspect servers for Hoenywell DCS client connection, will it affect the connectivity between ABB local HMI's and ABB servers?
