Answer question
Full Object Path in PG2 Graphics
Does anyone know of a way to retrieve the full object path / name in the PG2 graphics editor? A constant complaint when using the historian data retrieval tools is that navigating the control structure tree is too difficult / cumbersome for non-programmers. These are people who need production / performance data from the plant, but don't know much at all about the implementation of 800xA.
I'd like to build a DataDirect / SmartClient template that allows the user to go to the PG2 graphics, copy the full object path, paste it in Excel and retrieve the data they want. However, I haven't been able to find a good way to retreive the full path of an object and get it to the Windows clipboard. Any suggestions / help would be amazing.
