Answer question
Operating mode selectors
Problem:Solution
- Update handling
1. The problem has been solved from V8.0H.
2. On principle, when reconfiguring and updating the versions V7.2H and V8.0B either operating mode 'BAO' has to be interlocked via operator panel inhibit (see confidialog page 2)
or
'…/B8A' selector has to be used for reading.
The bit for 'B8A' is also set if 'BAA' has been set.
- Operating/Monitoring
If for reading an operating mode a control function selector '…/BAA' is used and operating mode 'Automatic Override' (BAO) is, for instance, adjusted via the keyboard the operating modes will be misinterpreted. This means if 'BAO' has been set the function simultaneously also recognizes 'BAA' and any function linked to the 'BAA' condition will be performed (e. g. SEQ).
The problem affects all versions that know 'Automatic Override' (from V7.2H and from V8.0B).
- Extending the controller program in operating mode handling to new selectors and new operating mode
From V8.0B and V7.2H on, the 'BAO' operating mode is available. A single bit in the system images serves for reading and writing by functions.
For reading and writing by keyboard, 'BAO' is identified by 2 bits (BAA+BHH). If 'BAO' is then set via the keyboard BAA will automatically be equal to 1 and a reading function will recognize the 'BAA' operating mode even though 'BAO' is pending.
No problems do arise with 'BHH'.
