How do you passing variables to a Parent Control Module?
I was easily able to pass variables from the Single Control Module down into these child modules by using parameters and connections.
I now cannot figure out how to pass variables back up to the parent.
Is the only way to do so through a Global Variable?
Example Structure (made this up as an example of what I'm trying to do on the system):
- FlowCalculator (Single Control Module)
- FQ100 cmpLib.Totalizer
FQ100 is instanced as a child of FlowCalculator in Control Builder M.
The "CalculatedFlow" value is sent to FQ100 by name through Connections on the FQ100.
FQ100 has a variable "TotalizedValue" in the variable tab.
Can you pass that variable back up to the parent CM?
Since FQ100 is instanced from a library object, I'm trying not to modify that code to make a Global Variable as it'll affect all CM's that use that library object, but right now I don't know if there is another solution.
