REDAI Blocks and Bad Qjality
DBDOC flags two situations as severe errors in checking if bad quality can be detected:
- TSTQ block has an input that cannot show bad quality
- TSTQ block tests an AO/L or DO/L block that has an input that cannot show bad
We also identify REDAI and REDDI blocks that are not tested for quality, on the basis that they can generate a bad quality state that is not being used in subsequent logic. We call this a warning.
My question is if INFI 90 experts would concur with calling this a severe error. The basis would be that the REDAI or REDDI block is used to be able to synthesize bad quality, and thus this should be heeded in general.
DBDOC error management allows the user to dismiss (hide) any messages that are of no consequence anyhow, but we feel that putting a valid spin on our messages is very important.
Would you suggest that a DCS specialist investigate places where REDAI block outputs are used without being tested for quality? If so, it has to be a severe error.
