A description of this resolution:
- The error is corrected in the Enhanced Operator Trackball with type designation IH581/B.
If the problem described is causing problems it is easily corrected by local service personnel according to the correction description below:
1. Disconnect the Enhanced Operator Trackball from the keyboard.
2. Using the ESD protection kit you remove the screws in the bottom of the trackball and remove the cap. You can now see the too long solder tail causing the problem.
3. Remove the circuit board and cut the solder tail and eventually bend down the corner of the bracket.
4. Put a piece of isolating plastic fixed with an adhesive electrical tape between the circuit board and the bracket or just place some layers of the adhesive electrical tape on the bracket to make sure that the circuit board and the bracket are isolated from each other.
5. Mount the circuit board and the trackball cap again.
6. Connect the trackball to the keyboard and the trackball is ready for use.
