Faceplate PG2 and DCI
I posted a comment on the following thread but it was not very clear...
Could you help me to solve my problem:
I am looking to use custom faceplate and to avoid replacement by update...
In fact, I would like to copy the whole DCI Object Type Structure in another object but I do not know how establish the link between the OTStructure and the Control Structure.
My object type structure is structured like described below:
Object Types -> Control System (OTGroup) -> Symphony DCI (OTGroup) -> Symphony DCI Controlware Modules (OTGroup) -> Listing of all DCI modules (OTGroup) and two obecjts : DCI Basic Module Data & DCI Super Class -> Several OType into each DCI module.
My Control Structure is structured like described below:Root (Doamin) -> Network Symphony DCI (OPC Server Network) -> Listing of all DCU (Controler) -> Listing of all DCI Modules. I noticed that on each module type reference aspect object "DCI Super Class" is precised. Faceplates are stored in the Symphony DCI Controlware modules... But how can I change the link ? Thanks in advance and sorry for the second post. Regards
Version 5.1 has added the ability to create "Extension Libraries" to exisiting libraries. You can create your own new Aspects and modify the exisiting aspects by moving "ownership" between the standard library and your new extension library. The original Aspects are still retained inside the original library while your modifications are part of the library extension. Future upgrades will modify the Standrd Object Type Library, leaving your changes untouched.
You can add multiple extensions to the same library.
However, you cannot add an extension library to a Released library. So Hopefully ABB have not locked the standard DCI library.
Details on how to create and manage extension libraries are in the on-line help and the User manuals.
