wireless for ac800f
how we can communicate with remote i/o s800 which is 20km far away from the ac800f controller?
I need more info or more interested in your overall solution!!! If you are looking for solutions to communicate/control with field devices over 20km far distance form freelance controller. Can be achieved with freelance ac 800f via FF, You can use distributed FF architecture with HSE running many kilometers via wireless or fiber optic with full and complete standard, check freelance FAQ http://search.abb.com/library/Download.aspx?DocumentID=3BSE070237&LanguageC
Or via Profibus over fiber optic can be possible to communicate with s800 remote I/O’s, but it depends on FO and not very much confirmed with distance. It’s an interesting question looking for different views from other community users.
you can use AC700F controller located remotely, like:
S800IO -- Profibus -- AC700F -- Ethernet -- (Radio Link or 3G modems or dedicated FO, depends on reliability demands and location) -- Ethernet -- AC800F.
In this scenario you can control data throuput between AC700F and AC800F manualy, depending on chanel quality.
You can do a Profibus to Fibre Optic conversion.
I believe Westermo makes a device that does this. They claim "up to 80km depending on the fibre type". You can start by looking at models ODW-611 and ODW-612. You should talk to your local rep for more info on these.
Other companies probably make similar devices as well. I only list Westermo because I remember talking to a rep a few years ago.
