800xA Rev C Plc connect and redundant OPC server communication problem
Hello;
We are using 800XA revC and redundat server ASCS. And We are using triange opc server redundant. When I closed first ASCS Server communication down or some signal can not communicate on plc connect. After then first server open again communication doesn't work healthy.
I made configuration redunant communication parameters on plc connect software.
Could you help us,

Your description of the problem is not clear. What exactly is not working ..
- One signal ?
- Many signals ?
- All signals ?
- Some signals on only one OPC server ?
- "Rev C" doesn't help Is it version 5.0 RevC or 5.1 Rev C ?
- Is this a new problem ? Has it ever worked properly? What did you change ?
- I can't find any information on a "triange" OPC server. Have you spelled this correctly ?
- Are both 800xA Connectivy servers connecting to the same External OPC Server or is the External OPC server also redundant?
- Have you used a third party connection tester to check the external OPC server(s) ?
-- This one ... https://advosol.com/p-22-opc-security... ... diagnoses security and access rights issues.
-- These ones ... https://advosol.com/p-42-test-clients... ... can test basic reading and writing of OPC DA, AE and HDA
-- There are many other free tools available.
It is most likely that redundancy is either not configured properly or not fully supported by the external OPC server. Everything will seem to work propeprly until a server restart causes the interface to fail over. At this point, the failure becomes apparent.
Resolving this kind of problem takes a little care and patience plus a LOT of testing. Usually I try to get the OPC link working on only one server at a time - ie shut down CS2 ( or disable the PLC connect services) and get everything working on only CS1. Then shutdown CS1 and get everything working on CS2. Then run both PLC connectivity servers and test the redundant failover.

Servers redundant and Aspect server and Connectivity server installed on same servers, OPC server program Triange Microworks OPC server. company web site
https://www.trianglemicroworks.com/
Before I used this OPC server only on first server. But I'm using redundant OPC server now communication on PLC Connect to separe triangle microworks opc server. And Configuration same.
Yes this same company opc server. We have two license and we installed two OPC server on two 800xA connectivity server.
But thats OPC server can not work redundant. Thats working separe. We made configured redundancy on plc connect software protocol setting.
I try a lot of time different configuration and resart servers .If I openden first server before and after than open second server communication working good.
But I opened only second server or when two server working I closed first server communication down . And I can't read any data or some data.
I made a lot of test and different combination for thats. OPC servers working healthy I tested thats.

Hi,
By the looks of it , PLCC has some issues connecting to the OPC on your secondary server, the PLCC log files should throw some light on that. Perhaps you could also verify with an OPC client like Matrikon on the secondary Server if you do receive good quality OPC data.
The reason why you may not be receiving data when the secondary is started first and the primary after that may be down to how you have configured the failover settings in the Controller configuration object. My guess is that it is at 'No Failover' at the moment. You can try to change this Failover on Communication error with "Communication active' selected. With this setting if you do start your Secondary server first, you should still receive data.
But for sure the problem seems to be in the secondary server, which needs to be addressed.
