I am attempting to use a CI871 with v5.1. I had done some testing before but it was on v6.0, and everything worked well. Now on v5.1 i had to roll the firmware back on the card to match the system. The card shows no errors itself, but the device now shows 16#00002000I/O connection error. All the mapping for the .hwd file is the same as it was on system 6.0 tests. In the controller live list, the CI871 is not showing up either. Has anyone used a CI871 with system5.1. Is there maybe a patch or TC that im not aware of?
The firmware is CI871FW 03.04-06 (CI871PROFINETHwLib 1.3-7).
We're using Profinet on a SV 5.1 Rev E FP4 system but its currently in pre-production.
So far, we havent had any issues connecting to the I/O modules ( other than trying to get the correct profinet config files from the manufacturer )
The CI871's are loaded with the firmware avaiolable in the standard release. We have no patches or TC's.
Check the controller boot log for the CI871 and make sure everything is booting EXACTLY as expected. If something has gone wrong in the firmware downgrade it will hopefully show in the boot log. Normally, a failed firmware version change completely trashes the CEX module, but I have very occasionaly seen modules with bad firmware attempt to run. The boot log information for the faulty module was incomplete.
Otherwise, try creating a new HWD definition file. These may not be backwards compatible when you downgraded from version 6 to version 5.1
