Compression ratio formula
Dear All
Please help me in understand, how Compression ratio in Log Configuration Aspect works .
If my Compression ratio is 0.01 , my range of the transmitter is 0 - 100 %, my Current value is 40 . between what value of Current value is Compressed.
Is This Compression goes with the (% Change in Range of the transmitter) OR (Change in the previous Current value to Current value) .
Thanks in advance

Hello,
If your compresion ratio is 0.01 and range is 0-100% means 1% value change(of engineering unit/Range) will store next sample.
In your example if current value is 40 then either changed sample value of 39 or 41 will get stored.
Now if the changed current value is 39.5 or40.3 which is less than 1% of range or less than 0.01% deadband, sample will not get stored.
let us say next sample value after 39.5 is 39 or 41. the sample will get stored.
So Compression goes with % change of range.
Previous sample value will not get stored untill it is greater than deadband.
There are other deadband attributes as well which affects data compaction.
