Need the clarity on the Counting philosophy of alarm for ABB 800xA 5.1 FF2 System.
Ex:- From alarm management report
Alarm-xxxxxx Count- 1523
How the counting of particular alarm come such ahuge number if there is no flikering at field for the same.
What will be the overal counting of particular alarm for the following case
Alarm is active in field and not acknowledged
Alarm is active in field and acknowledge
Alarm is RTN in field and not acknowledged
Alarm is RTN in field and acknowledged
What feature are you having an issue with?
The term "Alarm-xxxxxx Count-" does not feel familiar as most KPIs concern time factors.
Do you have any additional information, e.g. the report you are referring, any details of the alarm in the system, etc. An event list should tell if an alarm is oscillating (New/Inact/New/Inact/New/...).
If the Alarm Manager setting "Make new alarm each time a condition gets active" is disabled (which is factory default and VERY recommended to be left like that) there will only be one alarm, even if there is an oscillation. Look at the Event Time and Active Time properties of that alarm, they will update for every oscillation but there will be no second, third, fourth, etc. row presented. This setting saves a lot of space in the system as a reoccuring alarm will not flood, only become with new times. Events will be generated and could be viewed as an "alarm history".
