In ACS355, how to use programmable digital inputs to set reference?
For programmable digital inputs, they have PNP and NPN configuration where they are connected to the ground or supply via switches. Because of this connection, I am very confused about how to set them values and how to become programmable. Also, as I reviewed 11 reference select in chapter Actual Signals and Parameters, it says about parameter 1103 REF1 SELECT, DI3U,4D(R): Digital input DI3: reference increase. Digital input DI4: reference decrease. This makes me confused about how to use digital inputs as reference.

Hi
the digital input is selected to have up to 8 constant speed to use in the drive.
But you need before to made one simple choice: if you want to use the digital in PNP mode or NPN.
If you choose PNP mode, please made one wire connection between pin 10 and 11 in the main terminal box.
Then, with DI3-4-5 you can select up to 8 fixed speed, in macro standard. Referring to chapter "parameter and effective signals" - group parameter 12.
In this case, DI1 is used for "start" function and DI2 for "reverse rotating".
The particular configuration that you have descripted in your post regarding one different operation mode and macro: moto potentiometer, that you can use when you don't need one analog reference for input speed
I'll suggest you to read very carefully the manual of the drive: every functioning mode is descripted very well.
Or contact you local ABB dealer for one base course in ACS355: they can offer you one complete training program about ABB products.
