Speed limit in torque mode
HI ALL,
I am using ACS 380 in DTC mode and want to use in torque mode.
when there is no load on motor the motor runs at full rpm. so my question is that suppose when there is no load the motor should run at its line speed. If possible how to do that?

Hi,
keep the drive in speed mode and set your torque setpoint into torque limit 30.20 and the same but negative torque to 30.19. (this is torque limiter behind speed controller)
Set speed setpoint 2-3% higher than line speed.
As a result the speed controller output will be all the time limited (it means drive will provide preset torque) in case there is mechanical contact with the produced material.
If the drive loose mechanical contact with produced material it will keep speed setpoint.

generally, in torque mode you have the first AI to give the drive the speed reference for the motor and the 2nd AI to give the drive the torque reference to use, scaled 0 - 100%.
If I have correct understand, when you not have load at motor, also with the minimum reference for the torque at 2nd AI, the motor run at the speed that you have selected with the first AI - speed reference
