Value Varaition in CI860 even though stable in FF Builder
In CI860 , Four Temperature Transmitter Signals is Continously Varying from 34 to 400.
It's Correct value is 34, it is displayed correctly in filed device as well as in FF Builder.
If We Restart the device it will be stable for 1-2 hrs later again it starts varying.
All the Foursignals are there in the same H1 Link.
Check throroughly Field termination and earthing found to be ok.
These four signals are coming from 2 Temperature Transmitter, each Temperature transmitter is having two signals.
If we shift this two temperature transmitter to other trunck then it's working fine.
Totaly 11 Devices are in the same Trunk.
I don't know CI860 part, as worked with freelance + FF some years ago. but as you have described it’s strange behavior.
with reference to FF device wiring there is no issues on remaining 9 devices on same trunk ? and it's issue only with these two devices ? or is it the issue with wiringblock where those two devices are connected to trunk ? may be some issue with wiring or noise/interference.
Check for any wiring/connections/grounding.
Check if cable crossing parallel to any power cable or high magnetic interference field.
Is this two devices are added at the end ? and causing load ? try to remove devices one by one and check if that works. that's all I can suspect based on question description.
There are totally 10 devices, four Temperature transmitter having two sensors , so totally 14 signals in that same trunck.
Remaining Devices are ok, there is no problem in that.
Checked the Wiring/connections/grounding found to be ok, to confirm this we have layed a separate cable and checked , then also problem persists.
Cable is going through a separate tray and there is no power cable near by.
These two devices are the intially , even if you remove one device the other TT is having issue, but if you remove and add both device to same trnck it will be work fine for 1-2 hrs later same problem repeats.
Your description of how the temperatue transmitter sensors and signals are configured is not clear.
Do you have some application software that is used to switch temperature measurments? ( this is quite common in FF temperature instruments, where many sensors use the same IO channel in a time share ). In this case, it sounds like the problem is in your application software - most likely an issue with timing.
Hi, you mentioned that the value is varying from 34 to 400, Is it just jumping to 400 from 34 or gradually varying? is 400 your maximum range in transmitter?
It is possible that you have timing issue with cycle time of signals set to too fast. Can you check the settings? how busy is your FF HSE network? are you sharing it with some other protocol?
When you are testing to transfer the device to separate trunk cable, are you changing the Linking device as well, or the new trunk belong to same LD?
It will be more helpful if you report this issue to ABB Supportlinei in your region for further assistance. Please provide the Software/hardware version used and device type etc.
