AC100 OPC Server cannot be seen by client OPC
Customer has AC100 Controller and AC100 OPC Server installed to connect to non-ABB DCS. He is trying to access OPC server with another client (Matrikon) but could not see the OPC server at all.
Can someone please tell us if this is allowed? Second connection is for grabbing a handful of signals only so I guess no license is needed. (This is possible in 800xA).
Any suggestion why the OPC client cannot even see/browse the Server?
Physical network ok, ping ok.

Hello,
Yes it is allowed to access OPC server with another client (Matrikon), Find details at following link http://search.abb.com/library/Download.aspx?DocumentID=3BDS013988-510&Langu
ageCode=en&DocumentPartId=&Action=Launch, in document search with key word 'matrikon'.
Hope it helps to you...
Hello,
it's all about the correct DCOM settings on client and server side. You can find some interesting hints in document 3BDS011222-510_C_en_System_800xA_5.1_Configuration.pdf (even it's for 800xA, the rules are similar for any OPC) page 459 - 467.
