gsd for Siemens ET200 with Hart
I´m evaluating the possibility to use Freelance on a project. One specific requiremement is to connect a Siemens ET200 with Hart modules to Freelance. This is not a problem, but I need also to read in the 4 additional variables of the Hart transmitter (Nebenvariablen). For this purpose I guess I need a specific gsd file. The ones I´ve got, I can not see that the gsd file is reading the all the hart variables (except the pv and the diagnostics). Is anyone aware of such a gsd file?

Hi Axel,
You are right, Freelance supports FDT/DTM technology. so if you have ET200 DTM and HART device dtm your life will be easy. note that you need license for using FDT/DTM technology.
Hello Axel!
In general HART values can be read over PROFIBUS DP via cyclic data transfer (DPV0) or acyclic (DPV1). I'm not sure which type the ET200 supports. With S900 from ABB (and the upcomming S950e) for example you can configure up to 4 additional HART variables (Nebenvariablen) per channel that will be included in the cyclic data exchange. I think only cyclic DPV0 transfer would be part of a GSD file, but I'm not sure here.
If ET200 does not support HART via DPV0 cyclic data exchange, then the only way that I see is the FDT/DTM technology mentioned by Sumit. But I'm not aware of Siemens providing a DTM for their ET200.
Hello Dieter
4 additional HART variable per module. In total - 8 HART variables per module. Is it right?

Hello,
I have never used ET200 with freelance so can't comment. but wanted to check are you sure it's gsd thing or it's dependent on hart device dtm ?

I actually forgot hat Freelance can communicate directly with a DTM. The system I was comparing with can´t do this, so it has to use a gsd file. In case of Freelance it is easier

There is no gsd file other than you have. Pay attention that Siemens HART IO modules has to be connected to IM153-2HF. Otherwise they will not work.
