Can't copy Diagram from one Application to another
When I try to copy a Diagram in Control Builder from one application to another, i get this error : "Paste failed to get contents for CB object" (see pic 1)
What is wrong?
Check that you have connected the various required components like libraries to your target application before pasting. But problems with cut/paste are often related to memory usage.
Check that you have sufficient memory available in your computer
Check the memory usage of your control project. Remember that even on 64 bit systems Control Builder still only uses 32-bit and if your project is getting up to the 1GB size then you could start running into memory problems.
Separate from this, I would also ask "why are you copying code". If you have identical code running in two separate applications then really this should be a candidate for building a library object. Creating copies of code is of course sometimes necessary, but the general rule should be "never write the same piece of code twice". Using libaries for repeated code will also save you a very large amount of memory.
Thanks for your answers Rob & Backdraft,
My reason for copying code from one application to another is for saving the amount of tasks running in the controller (applications can't share tasks). When I started programming my controller I thougt that I could use up to 32 tasks, so I planned to use about 10 tasks in my project. I've ended up having some problems with tasks colliding so I red on this forum that ABB recommends using only 5 tasks per controller.
