Client to OPCDASurrogate
One of my servers has OPCDAsurrogate process running in task manager, so obviously some client is launching it. How to know the IP address of the client?
I tried using Applogviewer but it did not give any useful hint other than OPC Group name and number of items.
800xA version is 5.0.
I guess I was able to get client info in 800xA 5.1.

Applog can't tell who's connecting to the surrogate; it may be a local (COM) or remote (DCOM) client.
However, by executing the OPC Communicator - Statistics operation with 'D' (full detail) as argument on the surrogate process you will see the items subscribed (if any) - this information may point you further?
The tcpview.exe and/or procexp.exe tools from www.sysinternals.com may perhaps be able to point out an IP-address, port number, etc that you can follow up?
