What Virtual Network Adapter to use?
System 800xA 5.1 rev D FP4. on ESXi 5.1
Looking through the manual (Virtualization with VMware vSphere ESX), I can see that only E1000 is supported. We are currentley using WMXNET3.
But then I'm experince this problem: "Deploying Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7 templates with vmxnet3 renames the NIC as #2 (1020078)"
One workearoud is to use E1000. So why not just us this... My question is: Will it at all affect the performance?

Yes, your network adapter type has an impact on performance of 800xA. Until SV5.1 ReD and FP4RevD only virtual adapters of type E1000 are supported because we have seen specific issues related to RNRP when using adapters of type VMXNET3.
So it is recomended to use ONLY E1000.
