PM861 and ABB CP600 Panel Communication
I have a project with ABB System 800xA which has a controller two redundant PM861. All the problems has solved up to a point. I have an ABB CP600 panel and ı dont buy any communication card for this. I have an CI853 card as an option. I know that CI867 Modbus TCP card is among the solutions, yet my project budget is already finished, so ı cant buy any card.
I need urgent proposals about my problem.
Thanks...

Hi,
there is a Standard SoftwareLibrary for Modbus-RTU, which can run either on COM3 of PM861 or CI853

In this case you can configure you CP600 as modbus rtu master and PM861 can be modbus rtu slave.
You need one special library than permits configure Ac800m controllers as modbus slave,
it works fine.
There is no official support for configuring a Modbus RTU slave on the CI853 or COM3 ports.
In theory, it is possible to do this using the free form serial communications library available in the AC800M, and I guess this is what someone in Argentina has done. If you have the time and expertise then you could proabably do this yourself. However, it is not a trivial exercise to write a serial interface. But if your engineering hours have no cost then this is the only "free" solution. ( Personally, I would allow at least 80 hours plus some money for buying a serial port analyser program to debug the link )
Your best solution is a slave-to-slave gateway like this -> http://www.hms.se/products/products.a...
While you say you have no budget, honestly, by the time you cost your hours spent programming, debugging and supporting a one-off modbus slave interface you are probably much better off just spending the few hundred bucks that this unit costs.
