Going to configure a redundant 800system.
Must configure a redundant 800system.
Need two PM891(from the wizard) (paired with TK855 and TK856)
And two BC810 (paired with TK851)
At each rack do I put a Profibus Master CI854
Connects up according to Figure 34 on page 1 of 3 manual AC800 Controller hardware.
But so what:
Do I need two physical profibuskabler out?
Which bus module should I choose in the field?
Can I connect these two bus' one corresponding to each RML01 then connect a Profibus on a Siemens OLM fiber ring master with Olmer for each Profibus slave?
You have redundant Profibus masters now with 2 CI854A. What are your requirement for Slave devices/IO modules? If they have a single profibus connection (CI830, other 3rd party I/O clusters, normal DP devices), then you can use 2 options:
1. 2 cables from 2 CI854( Line A )go to RLM - and then single connection between RLM and slave.
2. 1 cable with daisy chain configuration that connects both CI together and then connect to slave.
If the slave support dual Profibus connections/redundancy (CI840A, some Siemens I/O) then you can just extend the same solution I mentioned above on the profibus line B (second connector on CI854)
The optical converter module can be used in the middle and is normally one per Profibus line. I recommend using Hirschmann OZD Profi 12M as I have personally used them and found them working perfectly, But as with all the optical converters, they introduce a little lag in the communication, and are transparent to the Profibus master, so you need to manually set the profibus communication parameters. More information about this should be in manuals.
Let me know if you need more help on this, you can also contact ABB's presales Support for further information.
