Profibus; AC800M; CI854; Libraries
For using Profibus with AC800M device CI854 I installed specific GSDs in the HWLibraries, but to configure the signals into application how can I do?
There are specific Libraries for Profibus? Where can I find them?
I think the description mentioned in the question is not sufficient to give the answer properly.
If CI854 module is connected via PDP22 or PDQ to any UMC device or similar, you should connect PDP/PDQ libraries to give the singnal channels input or outputs according to the project requirement.
If CI854 is connected to DP/DP coupler, you should load and connect DP-DP coupler libraries and create input or output channels as per the requirement and connect according to the project requirement.
Similarly it depends on how the link is established with the CI854 to the thirdparty devices to collect the data / for interface link.
Most of the time you dont need to convert GSD to HWLibraries. It is already done by Device Integration center and published as an Object Type (which contains HWLibrary).
Send an blank email to firstname.lastname@example.org and you will get latest list of integrated devices.
Once you have HWLibrary in Control builder insert the Slave device under CI854 and under the slave insert modules. These modules will have channels where you can assign application variables.
I agreee with Sridhar C. The information is insufficient in order to give a correct answer. It all depends on what type of equipment you're integrating. Sometimes it's pretty straight forward, and sometimes you really have to dive into the world of GS information in order to achieve your goal.
I normally don't disagree with other members of this forum, but I don't think that you can thrust ABB to do all of your integration for you. As of today only a very small portion of Profibus devices are integrated with 800xA.
Please supply further, and more detailed information about your problem.
Hi, how are you?
If you already have the hwd made, then you just have to insert into your project.
Insert a new slave under ci854 and then insert the configured communication modules(those you have configured during gsd import process) and connect your variables to those modules as you do with an IO card.
