Audible Alarm - Alarm sound per tag
My customer want a special alarm sound for some tags in the system. Meaning that for these tags he want to play a different sound than for other tags.
Is this possible? Can perhaps the Audible Alarm aspect be configured directly on the tag to over-ride the Library configuration?
With best regards
Alarm sound can be defined based on alarm severity/priority, so can map same priority for set of tags to achieve the same.
To override lib str configuration you can create the audivle alalrm configuration on workplace itself so that it will be unique to the workplace not on tag level to avoid compexity and confusion
Regarding alarm sound it works only when audible tool bar exists in application bar.
Harsha is right
OPC AE Severity (1-1000) is mapped to Alarm Priority Level (1-...) when an alarm arrives in System 800xA.
The APL is then mapped to a sound in Audible Alarm Configuration. A workplace may have its own AAC or share a common.
In the end: unique sound for a tag requires a unique severity on an object's alarm setting.
Severity can be overridden using an Event Attribute Object Extension aspect. There is a Product Bulletin released some years ago concerning a now solved issue with EAOE, find it and you will see how an addition can be done. Adding something that already exist is what I call override in this context. Remember, override of eg Severity need to be properly documented (PLC value not in effect as some may expect...).
