Smart Clien - Trend - Unspecified error from data provider.
Hi.
When creating a trend in smart client I get the error 'Unspecified error from data provider'
I am using Direct Data, No Hiericarcal data.
OPCHDA800xA in 'Smart Client Supervision Manager' registered many restarts attempets. It is pending between Green (Started) and Yellow status (Pending restart).
All other functionalities in Smart Client work as expected but the Trend.
Any hint
Thanks in advance

Sofian,
I would start with looking at the log files associated with the Smart Client. There are copies of these logs in both the Smart Client Server and the 800xA node where the Data Provider software was installed. In both nodes, they are at location 'C:\abblogs'. You can zip these directories/files and forward to your local Support Center for analysis by opening a Support Case. Additionally, when you open the Smart Client Supervision Manager, after selecting each of the Data Providers, there will be a 'Command Line' in the bottom display. I am enclosing an example of the reference I have made, along with a method to export the MS Registry entries where this information is also stored.
I have also attached a document showing an example of the SC Supervision Manager with all the Data Providers for the SC Server, xA Data Provider node and an 800xA History node, which you can disregard for your installation. Let me know if there is something else I could help you with.

Sofian,
The configuration of the Object Type Reference tool controls what properties of any Object Type are to be displayed in the Smart Client Panels. I have enclosed a document that is an example of how this tool is used with the Softpoint Objects. This process is the same for any other Object Type. In this document, I reference 'Clearing the Cache', which removes all previous static portions of the Panels that may reside in the PC Client. This process should be done for all PC's that have opened the SC clients. Enclosed is another document explaining this function.

Geof
