Answers
What type of "project" are you having problems with?
Common problems when using AC800/Control Builder M:
- The alarm's combination of "SrcName + Condition" is not set to a unique value, too long or contains unsupported characters.
- Class or Severity is set out of valid range (eg zero).
- Alarm owner not set properly causing alarm to be adopted by parent or grandparent.
The two first give "AlmDefErr" System Alarm or warning in controller log depending on version of 800xA.
If the above does not help, try searching for the alarm in a brand new and totally unfiltered alarm list. Don't trust the Common Alarm List filter, verify that no one has tampered with it and made it to filter out some alarms, eg using a property filter, etc. Its easy to restore the original filter settings from C:\Program Files\...\Process Portal A\import\...\xxxDefaultAEListConfigurations.afw (name is not fully correct, but will guide you to the file you can import the factory default alarm filter settings from).
It can also be useful to check the alarms CondState - in version 5 and later this is supported directly from context menu in CBM. In older versions you must connect this output property to a variable to see it, or go online with CBM and look up the alarm block which might not br possible with locked/protected libraries.
For an enabled, active and uncknowledged alarm the CondState value shall be 5.
2 is idle (no alarm)
6 is disabled
0 is error in alarm configuration
I also suggest that you contact your regional ABB support center for further assistance.
Regards
Stefan
