FI want to replace the S200 I/O. Which is the suitable replacement module?

To start, I assume that when you are referring to using an AC800 controller, that you are using AC800M controller, correct? In that case you would have a few different options for replacing the S200 I/O when using it with the AC800M contoller but given that the S200 provided an I/O module and a separate base unit (i.e. if you need to replace the I/O card you only need to remove the module and can leave the base with the wiring in place), I would look to the S800 I/O as the repalcement.
Now which exact S800 modules and termination bases to use would obviously depend on the existing compliment of S200 I/O that you are using. However, regardless of what you have, you will need to replace both the S200 I/O modules as well as the S200 bases.
I am providing you a link to an S800 I/O manual below. If you look in the Technical Specifications section of the manual you will see all of the I/O Module and Base options.
Good luck.
Hello Taaziva,
difference between S700 and S800 is, the S700 has a smaller footprint and usually offers a higher number of channels per module and also has modules that feature a mix of analog and binary channels, but it does not support hot-plug. So in case you need to replace a S700 module you need to power off one complete slave.
S700 also has no DTM (you need to configure a GSD based slave) and does not support HART tunneling
S800 offers hot-plug, a DTM and HART tunneling.
One thing to be aware of... There is a huge difference in footprint between S200 remote IO and S800 IO modules, with the S800 being much larger.
S200 Remote IO is essentially re-badged AB I/O modules, but the firmware release is significant as later AB firmware releases are not suported on the Sattbus when used with AC800M.
The choice of AC800F seems odd, when S200 IO is directly compatible with the AC800M controller and the Sattline code is close enough to AC800M control modules that you would have a much easier time upgrading the software. How is the Satt IO connected to the freelance controller ?
Totally unrelated to your question, but we completed an upgrade of Sattline to 800xA last year at a site in the US which was relatively easy because we simply reused the existing S200 and AB IO modules, analysed the existing application, and re programmed in 800xA control modules. Note, that I say "relatively" - its still a significant effort.
