800xA Integration with MS SQL Server
Hi,
Have anybody tested a integration with 800xA and standard sql database via opc or other format?
Answers
I have experience from my previous job (different system) - there is possibility to use client - there is possible to exchange data between OPC and SQL servers (bidirectionally). I think it can work also for 800xA (SQL and OPC are "standards").
links for possible clients (I am sorry, I dont remember which one we have choosed at the end):
thanks Radomir,
I'm going to check your link for ideas, but I have found a lot of software out there that can connect to opc and do a select/update/insert or call an stored procedure to an sql db.
I have also tested some of them with good results.
If you check on Iconics,Kepware,Matrikon,Softing or DataHub they all have connection software to opc and relational databases.
In my point of view the Iconics Bridgeworx are the most advanced with their framwork to do integration with all kind of systems.
If you use ABB cpm Software you have the possibility to connect to 800xA and select/insert or update data on a tbl in db, same functions as them above but it is more integrated with 800xA, but the cpm doesnt have all the functions like opc2opc as the software mentioned above but have other benefits.
best regards
Mattias
