OPC DA Client - AdvDsOPCHandler Write Failed
sometimes the alarms associated with the Monitoring Analogue Reuse Library elements will be acknowledged but the alarm indication on the faceplate will not be removed.
The Event Log shows 'Write Failed: The Data Access write operation was rejected because the user has no permission to write to the item.'
This is strange as we don't change the user priviledges.
Is there a way to reset / remove this "stuck" alarm?
Initially I suggest that you turn to the person/organization that provided you with this automation solution.
I'm no expert on REUSE and how it internally handle alarm conditions and acknowledge them.
Does the alarm list contain any alarm?
Acknowledging of alarm can be done in more than one way:
1) From the alarm list
2) Pressing the Alarm Control icon in a faceplate
3) Writing "false" to the object's Alarm Global Properties:IsAlarmUnack property.
2) and 3) involves an OPC DA write operation and an appropriate object level permission, usually "Operate".
Is is possible that some user without "Operate" on the object in concern is trying to acknowledge via method 2) or 3)?
A person more skilled in REUSE might be able to tell how they handle acknowledgement of alarms in any special way.
