800xa system time shifts automatically forward !
Our ABB DCS consists of 2 AS , 2 DS , 2 CS , 1ES and 6 clients. there is 4 nodes ,each node with 2 redundant pm864 controllers.
on 6 or 7/4/2017 clients reported that their system time shifted forward automaticaly and they couldn't see any event and trend. So we resynched the time using control builder M time set function again. as there was a time shift to a future month ,we deleted the wrong events with wrong dates so the event problem has been solved.
Now we have a problem with real time trends. Although all trend data is available but we can't see parameter changes in real time. by closing and opening the trend window we can see the previous records correctly but not the real time data.
We tried resynching using CBM set time tool again and restarting Connectivity servers but the problem didn't solved.
I appreciate any help here.
I guess this is with Basic History Service, so what do you get on such a Log in the Log Configuration Aspect on the "Status" Tab when clicking "Read"?
I guess time will still be wrong so you don't see the actual current data where you expect it... are you really sure the Time is in sync now? Did you check all Controllers via CBM Tools - Maintenance - Clock Sync - Status and as well that all the Timezones on Controllers and Clients are matching?
All controllers ,servers and clients times seems to be synched.
it is a industrial 800xa 5.0 software.
We use win server 2003 OS so I did w32tm /monitor command ( on both Domain Servers) to check client network for any time synch problem. there was TIME OUT error on both AS-01-A and AS-01-B ! I couldn't find the reason. all other PCs were OK with Win32 time .
another odd thing is that both Win32 time servise and afw time service are active and running!
I used control bulider M time status to check times but although there was all IPs in visible list but after adding them to the right window to monitor their time I only see controllers nods and not server/client nodes. I'm not surte if it is normal or not.
I attached some screenshots.
we have a complete back up of our aspect directory. there is also a back up with export tool from our service directory. I don't know if it is wise to import the service directory from 3 months ago back up?
we have Acronis Image of all nodes as well but I thinck they are not handy in this case.
any clue will be a great help.
Get timesync setup as per the Network Users guide.
AfwTime does not outrule Win32Time just as long they are not competing with each other. Using AfwTime to sync PCs and in the same run Win32Time in strict server mode (to serve external clients) is OK (while client mode is no good).
Do you have future data in any of the logs?
Use Log Configuration->Status to query for latest values, limit count to 10 rows in settings first. Are any samples in the future or not?
In 5.0 no easy option to purge future data exist. Can be done on a per log basis using AdvHtOPCHDAClient.exe tool; but with hundreds or more logs to clean its no fun...
Wiping the \OperateITData\History folder and restoring aBasic History data backup taken before the problem occurred could work, but would leave a gap from point of backup to present time.
