Changing IP-adress via serial connection (AC700) not working
I have some trouble changing the IP of an AC700. I want to change it into 141.51.etc. so I need the serial connection.
I followed descriptions I found here in the forum and in the user manuals.
In short: Connect serial cable (tried different cables), open Terra Term (I also tried other tools), restart Controller, keep hitting space bar to enter the menu for changing the ip...
The serial connection seems to work since I can see all the data displayed in Terra Term. I also read the text that tells to hit space to enter the menu. My problem is that nothing happens if i hit space.
Also I found a way to get to this menu anyway (by just not entering any ip address before saving) but I can´t change, save etc. by hitting "C" or "S".
I tried some different settings for the serial connection (baud rate, flow control etc.) but maybe something is wrong there? Where do I find the correct settings?
Another problem is that if i just use the standard ip 172.16.1.1 and change the ip of my computer accordingly (172.16.1.2), i can ping the controller but CBF says the DMS version of the controller is not compatible (I still use the demo Version of Freelance?!). Also the controller asks for the ip every time I restart it.
Thanks and best regards!

Answer to your another problem first, Incase you are using standard ip and able to ping controller and it says DMS version is not compatible, that means CBF version in PC is not matching with firmware version of controller. Using configure tool, download the firmware into the controller and then check in CBF comissioning mode you should get status "version error, Running" then make whole station download.
For issue with getting connected to controller using serial link, I strongly recommend to use correct TK 701F diagnostic cable(article number 3BDH000366R0001) , check this link and wiring connection diagram @
Hope that helps
