SD833 and SS832
We have redundant SD833s powering a CI854 and 9 IO Cards. Table 117 of 3BSE036351-510 is for Selection of Votiing Units. What is this table stating? How many SS832 Voting units are needed for the redundant SD833s? Please direct me to a wiring/installation diagram?
SD833 is power supply module with output 24VDC, 10A each.
In case you need to supply CI854 and 9 IO cards only, I think that 10 A is more than enough.
So you need 2 pcs of power supply SD833 and 1 pc of voting unit SS832 to connect both of SD833 in parallel for redundant operation to a common load. The connection diagram is on fig. 44 from the same manual, that you mention. How to connect the load is shown on fig. 46.
In this case you will have output from SS832 max. 10A - one of power supply modules is main (supply the load) and the second one is redundant. Voting unit SS8xx incorporate diodes, so the power supply unit with higher output voltage (even a small difference) is main and the other one is redundant. In case of failure of the main supply, the second one will take over without interuption.
