Reconfiguring keyboard and mouse of an Advant OS
Hi!
I've been trying to reconfigure an Advant station previously set up as IMS (with a default keyboard and mouse). My goal is to configure the Advant station as an OS which includes an extra graphic card and converting to trackball and ABB-specific keyboard(HP HIL). To install the extra graphic card is apparently straightforward and not the problem here.
The problem is to configure the OS for trackball and abb-keyboard. When trying to start it up, it stops when attempting to boot with the trackball and abb-keyboard connected. When the default mouse and keyboard is connected, the keyboard works and the station boots. But the mouse doesn't work, however, and when loading the OS environment the mouse is a necessity, so we're back to square one.
I've tried modifying the console path(keyboard) to HIL from PS2 before booting, but this changes nothing. The disk I'm booting from previosly belonged to an Advant OS with trackball and abb-keyboard fully functioning, and I believe the disk itself is fine.
Has anyone out there done something similar, or has any ideas of what the error may be?
Please help!

Did you install OS from scratch with trackball and functional keyboard, or with mouse and default keyboard?
I believe that trackball does not exclude having a HIL mouse connected in parallel - worth a try at least.
What version of OS?
What HP hardware (700 series, B132, B180 ISA, B180 PCI, B2x00)?
