Other than restoring backup from Configuration Wizard using "Restore System", is the below said method a correct Procedure for restoring a backup?
1) Create a new system
2) Import the Structures Backup (Individual Structure Backup taken using Afw importexport tool) i.e. Control Structure, Object type structure, function structure, etc.
Is this method of restoring Project a recommended one? Will it work?

I agree with first post.
If you have access to ABB Library / SolutionsBank you can try to search for and download the System Version 2 Administrator's Guide which I seem to recollect to contain the manual backup procedure (which was more or less the only viable solution back then).
Avoid moving standard objects & aspects this way; concentrate on site specific stuff.
Will it work : Yes
Is it recommended : No, not to restore a complete project.
in order to import separate files you need to know exactly what you are importing and what order to import everything into. In older versions of 800xA ( before version 5 ) this really was the only way to copy a system onto new hardware because the old backup / restore software was pretty bad. However, the new backup/restore from version 5 onwards is very good.
But yes, there are situations where you should use the Import export function. For example if you want to copy code or objects from one system to another.
