Information/Documentation about Formulation
I plan to use Freelance Formulation but since the system is new it´s quite hard to find any information about it. Where do I have to search? Or can someone tell me how the system works in general?

Formulation uses the variables belonging to a SFC as parameters and report values.
A recipe runs on a single SFC. Multiple recipes can run on multiple SFCs at the same time.
Formulation uses the FPX function block in Freelance to control the SFC.
From the engineering aspect (CBF) each Formulation station contains a UNI-Gateway and can be configured and downloaded like an OPC server. After the download of the UNI-Gateways, Formulation knows the Varaibles it is allowed to access.
Inside Formulation the variables can be assigned to a master recipe as parameters or report values. The master recipe contains the ingredients for a norm amount (like 1 ton) of the recipe. Within Formulation a master recipe can be used to create a control recipe for the target amount. For parameters that have been declared "scaleable" Formulation will calculate the value needed to match the target amount. If the target amount of the recipe exceeds the capacity of the equipment, Formulation will create multiple control recipes.
The operator can donwload the control recipes (write the parameter values) from Formulation to the controller, provided the FPX is in idle and program mode. The Recipe can then be started manually using the FPX faceplate in DigiVis. Once the recipe is finished Formulation creates an essential Batch report in Excel.
Formulation and DigiVis can run simultaneously on the same PC.
One Formulation database supports 50 SFCs with 30 Master recipes each and 30 Control recipes per Master recipe. Each recipe can have up to 300 parameters and 300 report items.
Each Formulation installation counts as one against the 10 client limit of a single controller.
Freelance Formulation is related to Recipe Management component for single product or multi-grade product process cells, controlled by Freelance Distributed Control System.
