I have the following configuration:
800xA Connectivity Server (SV5.1 FP4 Rev E) has LAN connections to:
ControlNet 172.16.80.xx with 4 AC800M Controllers (.152, .253, .155, .211)
Company LAN 10.7.113.xx / 255.255.255.0 with several 3rd Party Controllers and 1 AC800M (Compact 800) with adress .151
Between 172.16.80.211 and 10.7.113.151 communication via MMS schould be enabled.
The Connectivity Server can ping all Controllers in ControlNet as well as Company LAN.
Can anyone tell me, how to configure RNRP so that MMS communication can take place between the Controllers in the different LANs?
Your suggestions are highly appreciated!
As long as company LAN allow free multicasting RNRP will work.
Mentioned addresses need Explicit Configuration though.
Netmask of 255.255.255.0 guarantees that node number will not exceed 500 - the only real requirement from RNRP besides free multicasting within an RNRP area/IP-subnet.
Lookup Explicit Addressing mode in User's Guides/AKS threads.
IP forwarding need to be enabled if routing between the RNRP areas is required.
