Events are stored on basis of "counts" defined for each event category (Special Configuration tab in Event Storage service,by defalut it is 10000 per each event category) and not as per the duration.
It looks like you have already reached the counts and as per FIFO mechanism, all old events are cleared by the new events.
To check this, open the event list and filter with "Process Confition event" (ie...Proces Alarms) and then hit the "Down" button 20 times to confirm your events are reached the max count.(by default each page list 500 events)
You can increase the storage upto 50,000 but not more than that because it may affect performance.(Refer 3BDS011222-510_A_en_System_800xA_5.1_Configuration on how to incease the count)
(By default, alarm manger stores 10,000 alarms in the Alarm list)
If you still couldn't manage to fix this issue, plesae contact the regional supportline for the assistance.
The 800xa System can store upto 10000 events by default But Incase upou have Information Manager and configured the IMMSGLOG (Message Log) then you can retreive the logs.
ReadinG message log using Data Direct:
Specify starting cell where the query result will be displayed. Then click the Message Log button
Select the OPC/Audit Trail tab
Select the log name from the pull-down list, then specify the time range, and
other criteria to retrieve the required data.
Select the OPC attributes to retrieve, for example, LOCALTIME, SOURCE,
MESSAGE, CONDITION, and SUB_COND.
You can not check in an alarm list for old alarms; once an alarm has returned to its idle state (enabled, inactive, acknowledged) it will no longer be viewable in any alarm list.
But since for each alarm, System 800xA will record an event with the same attributes; therefore you can use event lists to view previous alarm transitions.
As mentioned by others, event storage is split into categories, 10000 for each category (but you can increase storage to 50.000 - refer to the user's guides).
