Dual monitor in 800xA system.
Sir,
My 800xA system has redudent server, one engineering work place and one client.
Apart from that my end user want to put one only big monitor, in which he can see whole plant in one screen ( I had already developede that perticular screen).
Now how can I do this?
Apart from that I have one hardware that allow me to use same CPU for two different user at a time, but to do so I have to run 800 OPC server in a both user.
Does it possible?

A workplace need to run inside a Microsoft Windows session, i.e. as a logged in user.
Clients like XP and Windows 7 can handle one "desktop" session at a time (you may have suspended sessions "parked" in the background).
On Windows 2003 and 2008 Server you can install Terminal Services (requires a separate license from Microsoft) to host multiple sessions in parallel; each session will need a thin or thick client from where a Remote Desktop session is initiated. For practical reasons no more than five (5) sessions should run in parallel on a Terminal Server.
You need to decide wheter to host the session on the regular desktop of a thick client, or via Remote Desktop from a thin or thick client.
If the "big monitor" need to open faceplates, trends, alarm or event lists you will need a client license as well. In theory, I believe even a "read only client" as your big screen might become (with no faceplates, trends, etc.) should have a proper client license, but it will not enforce it until you open any of these aspects for viewing.
There is no requirement to install any additional OPC server, etc. - just see the "big screen" as the second client workstation.
You could also have a look at Smart Client which can deliver PG2 graphics to a multitude of clients to a lesser cost than full bodied 800xA workplaces - but for just one additional screen I believe a regular 800xA client workplace is the simplest and less costsome solution.
Please consult with your regional ABB sales representative who shall be able to give you a quotation on licenses, etc.

Hi,
I have done this before via using KVM extender for big screen.
Only hardware you need is that and the system on which you are attaching it,set its screen settings (Scrren resolution-->Display) to Extended Screen.
Then fetch the fixed HMI on the bigger and you can use the other as operator station.
But you need to make sure that Screen resolution of the bigger screen does not distort the graphic as in they should match.
Hope this helps
