How Do You Migrate from a PU510 RTA board to PU410 RTA box for MB300 Network Programming?
Currently have a PU510 RTA board installed in our engineering station PC running CBA 1.2. We have this connected to a MB300 network to program our DCS nodes. On this network are 5 MP280's and 1 AC450. The MB300 primary and redundant networks these nodes are attached to were just converted from thicknet to CISCO 2960 switches. Each DCS node and the PU510 RTA board has a black box AUI to RJ45 tranceiver/converter on their respective AUI ports.
We use this current set up to perform DUAP back ups and on line prorgramming changes and additions to our DCS nodes, however, we are having difficulty keeping the PC with the PU510 RTA board operating due to it's age and lack of parts.
Our plan is to purchase a new PC, load it with our company approved windows 7 64 bit operating system, purchase CBA 1.4, a PU410 kit, and a cross over ethernet cable for installation from the PC to the PU410 and use this set up to be able to maintain our backups of our DCS system and perform online programming changes and additions.
1. Is this the correct approach? If not, what other options are out there? (Aside from the cost of upgrading to 800xA)
2. Are we missing anything to make this approach work? Such as, set up software for the PU410, etc.?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
In general you are using the correct approach. You don't need to have the 800xa to use the PU410 since you are planning to purchase the CBA 1.4. Follow attached the CBA 1.4 installation instructions for more information.
