Alarms in 800xA from AC400 - tag description missing and wrong tag names
A client has a 800xA ver 4.1 system with AC400 Advant controllers - no 800xA controllers. A couple of alarms in the alarm list has either:
1. no tag description in alarm line - only tag name
2. the GUID name instead of tag name and no description
3. the correct tag name follwed by "(1:13)".....13 is just an example - there a various values.
I have been told that all 3 cases are caused by alarms generated before MB300 Upload was done......but how do I get rid of these alarms and get the correct ones shown.
Thanks in advance

Internally, alarm and event are handled using their object GUID, hence the alarm and event list depends on the aspect directory to deliver these upon request (some caching is made though).
In lack of an object, Lost and Found objects are created using the alarm's Source Name (which is not to be mixed with Object Name). For 800xA for Advant Master, Source Name is the same as Object Name + a suffix of "(x:y)" where x is MB300 network decade number and y the MB300 node number from where the alarm or event was raised.
If the Lost and Found object(s) are deleted without a MB300 Upload, alarm and event lists will no longer be able to retrieve the Object Name + Description and may display Object GUID instead of Object Name.
Object Description is populated at MB300 upload; subsequent changes in the controller will require another MB300 upload before the description will match.
Lost and Found object lazy dog:
1. MB300 Upload where required.
2. Delete L&F descedants.
3. If new L&F are generated, goto step 1.
In older versions of 800xA; a restart of the Event Collector and/or Alarm Manager services might be required for them to "release" an old stale object.
I suspect that you need to upload from AC400 Controller to Control Structure.
1) Locate the "MB300 Uploader" aspect on the AC400 Controller concerned in
the Control Structure.
2) Press "Start Upload".
3) When upload has finished, you should have correct tag and description.
1:13 indicates that you need to perform MB300 upload,
untill succesful MB300 upload you will have the results under "Lost And Found"
