PM591-ETH IP ADDRESS PROBLEM
hi,
I'm trying to set up the ip adress of PM591-ETH cpu. However I'm facing a problem with it
when I try to detect the default ip address of cpu. The ABB IP Configuration Tool cannot detect the cpu.
There isn't problem to the TB11-ETH, because I tested with a PM573-ETH and there wasn't any fault.
So Iam sure that the TB11-ETH, the cable (cat5e) and the configuration of pc are absolutely right.
The article number of TB11 is 1SAP111100R0270 and for the cpu is 1SAP150100R0270.

the cpu 591 is one cpu old series, to access to this unit you need to use Codesys with Sycon -net tool, with automation builder AFAIK you can not access this unit.
To obtain more information contact your local ABB sales network
Hope this help you

Hello Alex,
I would agree with flavio with the note that actually is the article number that characterizes your PM591-ETH CPU as a "legacy" one and not an active one.
Pls find attached a relevant ABB document where you can find your cpu in the last lines of 2nd page.
So in simple words PM591-ETH card is active, but yours is an old one which is not active and maybe this is the reason why you cannot connect to it.
At the same time pls use the screen of your CPU in order to check what is the settings of its IP and try to PING it in order to verify that is working.
Hope this helps.
I have tried to set the IP address and the sub mask from the keypad but i cannot. The ipset -> Static menu with A1, A2, A3,A4 and N1, N2, N3, N4 does not appear like the the PM573-ETH.
I can change only four value that are the address id for the ETH, FBP, COM1,COM2.
Hello Alex,
By having your PC connected to the CPU (Ethernet connection) do an ARP request
(Command line, C:> arp -a )
The output should give you the Mac address of the Ethernet port of PM591 together with its IP address.
Then you can set yours PC IP address and try to PING.
At the same time I believe there should be a way to see it with the use of the keypad.
Hope this helps.
The arp -a command show the devices that have already communicated in the LAN.
In other case they don't appear at the arp table.
Giorgios is right: in addition to what has already been written in the Basic data sheet TB11-ETH 1SAP111100R0270, is indicated that for the program you must use the old suites Control Builder Plus.
If you're using the latest version of Automation Builder, this is not suitable for what you need to do
I fear that there are not other ways to program this CPU
Hi Alex,
With the Automation Builder 1.x install, you can still program the PM591-ETH with article number ...R270.
Do not launch the Automation Builder, open the CODESYS V2.3 from 'START > 3S Software > CODESYS V2.3'.
Then create a new project and select the target PM591 v1.2
I have contacted with local ABB sales network in order to obtain more information.
Thanks for the replies.
