Compability between AC800m and CP650
We are a group of students working with an asignment for Bergen University College creating an demonstration model.
The model already have a CP650 panel and we are going to install an AC800m.
We are not sure if these products are compatible with each other,
we have earlier got an answear that this will work, but now we have got information from another person that this is not possible.
So the qustion is if this is possible to set up using Panel builder 600 or Panel builder 800?
And if it is possible, what is the solution?
We have found no good documentation on this.
Thank you and best regards

So you already have this answer -> http://www402.abbext.com/Compability-...
The AC800M and the CP650 are "compatible" - so yes you can use them together, but the products are not designed to integrate seamlessly - so you have to do a lot of extra configuration.
While this question -> http://www402.abbext.com/Communicatio... is for the reverse situation ( AC500 controller and PP800 panel ) the ideas are the same. You need to expressly configure the communication protocol between the two product families.
Panel Builder 600 is the tool you require to configure CP600 series panels. Panel Builder 800 is for PP800 series panels. Despite the names sounding similar, they are completely different products.
Here is the manual for CP600 -> http://goo.gl/KhYnLN. The CP600 supports Modbus Serial and Modbus TCP so you also need to configure one of these interfaces in the AC800M
While AC800 controllers and CP600 panels can talk to each other, they are really the wrong choice for each other. You will find a PP800 panel much easier to configure with an AC800 controiller.
