Long response time for Aspect Server / Conectivity Server 800xA
We had a problem with a Aspect Server Conectivity Server that stopped working.
Our 800xA system is: 02 redundant Aspect Server Conectivity Server (one has a USB Dongle containing the license) and a Client, there is not domain controller. All of sudden, the ASCS that doesnt have the USB dongle stopped working and there is a window saying "Unable to communicate with CLS Server. Error returned while attempting to open connection =0x80072ee2". I have searched and found that this error code means "ERROR_INTERNET_TIMEOUT". So I run RNRP monitor from the ASCS that has the dongle and found that the ASCS that failed is UP. Then I run RNRP utily and clicked on option 5 in order to test rnrp response time, I found that response time is often greater than 600ms and reaches values up to 3613ms; however if I open CMD in Windows and execute a ping command the response time is 1ms.
I think that this ASCS cant connect to the CLS Server because of these big response time values but it seems very strange that response time to ping commands is 1ms and if I use RNRP the response time is bigger.
Just to add more information, the redundant servers where working fine before this failure. I was using RNRP ver 3.4, I searched and didnt find a trace of this computer being blocked by Network Loop Detection, I am using 800xA 5.1
What could be causing this problem?
Try calling the CLS License Assignment Editor URL on the CLS server, then on the secondary ASCS (copy the URL). If this does not work on secondary, there is something blocking the HTTP traffic, eg a bad proxy or network issue that must be corrected.
Response time should be way better than 600ms! Check your network (and bandwidth, eg by copying a large file. 1000 MB shall transfer in roughly 10-15 seconds on gigabit speed.
