LEARNING CREATION OF ALARMS AND EVENTS
Hello, am new to entire Automation system and have created coding on ABB COMPACT CONTROL BUILDER AC 800M, with ABB 800XA with PLC CONNECT on an project site.
After successfully creating logic ,and SCADA work .
I am having this as remaining work: " ALARM HEADER, ALARM & EVENT LIST. PRODUCTION HOURS/HISTORY LOGS. "
How to initialise from very starting step, for above mentioned work.
I followed some ABB Pdf files, but ended with understanding only How to create templates.
Expecting Support, Thanks.
Please clarify the following for precise support/Answers
1.Alarm List & Event list:- Do you want a single alarm list for whole plant or mulitple alarms lists area wise or controller wise or something like that?
2.For Historly Logs..You have templates ready or you still need to configure them?
Do you want a common sampling time for all or its different for different kind of tags?
Also you can follow basic 800XA training material (T315) which has very detailed explaination of all
Dear Pankaj jain Sir,
Thanks for the support.
I followed the document and steps, and created an Alarm & Event List: TEST_ALARM & EVENT_LIST in the CONTROL STRUCTURE.
I am attaching IMAGE for my work.
As you can see now in Image, I am having BELT CONVEYERS as OBJECTS, and under them I have created various SIGNALS of diff type: boolean, string(AUTO,BDS, RESET,etc)
1) After creating the ALARM list, it is showing the Previous DEFAULT Alarms in list, which are already existing in system by default. How can I remove them from default list and how can I add my signals (AUTO, BDS, etc) in newly created list.
2) The steps we followed. Are they the initial steps for creating and configuring alarms, events etc. I mean all this work is done on them is done on CONTROL STRUCTURE only? or also we have to do some work in Library & functional structure ?
Kindly suggest me further steps .
Pl find suggestions to your queries
1)You can disable the old alrams...there i generally a parameter in the function block which can enable or disable the alarms.
But best way I would suggest is Use PCLass prameter available in Alarm Cond block.
Give some number(say 100 or 200) to the all the new alarms which you want to see in newly created list and also go to configuration of your alarm list and filter it on the basis of PCLass(Alarm List-> Configuration->Go to filter Tab->Select area in Subtab).
In this way, you will see only those alarms in the list which have the PClass as filtered. You can also use alarm priority with the same philosophy and filter the list based on it.whatever suits you the best!!!!
2)Regrding this, you can actually create a new list where ever you want(Functional structure or control structure). The basic data is fetched from the template/Configuration which are generally kept in Library structure. We change there only when the available tamplates are not serving the purpose...or we need to create a new project specific template. Any change you want to see in Alarm list, you will play with configuration which is actually kept in Library structure.

Hope this works..and revert if ny more clarification required
