How to upgrade a Freelance project from version 9.2 to Freelance version 2016?
Voted best answer
upgrading Freelance from one major version to the next is easy. Export the project in the old version, install the new version (don't forget to download it to the controllers with EPROM download) import the project (CSV file) into the new version, do the plausibility check and download whole station to controllers, gateways and operator stations.
Note: You cannot only upgrade the HMI. In Freelance all resources need to be on the same version.
As in your case you skip the next major version to 9.2, which would be Freelance 2013, there is no guarantee that a direct import into Freelance 2016 works. The test scope is always the previous major version.
So get a Freelance 2013, export the project in 9.2, import it into 2013, do a plausibility check and do corrections until everything is green. Export the project in Freelance 2013 (no need to download it), install the Freelance 2016, import the exported project from Freelance 2016, .... see above.
You can try to do it in one step directly from 9.2 to Freelance 2016, but there is a certain risk involved that the project will not work correctly. So better do it stepwise.
