How to configure Master/Salve communication AC800F
We are going to do a Modbus RTU comm on CBF. Our AC800F have a redundant FI820F module. The 800F will be Master & Slave.
Does any one have any information for how to do this configuration??
when you say you have a redundant FI820F module you should note that two FI820F in a single AC 800F will not be redundant. For modbus master redundancy you need a redundant AC 800F (two AC 800F) with a single FI820F in each of them.
In the hardware structure, after inserting the redundant AC 800F (AC800FR), insert a FI820R into the primary into an F-Slot (that will automatically insert the same module type into the secondary AC 800F). Select the detail view of the FI820R and insert a Modbus Master device function block (MODM_DEV)into one of the two cables coming out of it. Right click the Master Device function block in the hardware tree and select Parameters. There you set the communication parameters like baud rate, stopp bits etc.
Now switch to the P-Tree.
Then to send/receive data to/from a slave insert a Write / Read Coil or Register function block into a program in your P-Tree. You find those function blocks under Blocks/Modbus Master. The parameter of this function block contains the slave address you are communicating to. The "Interface" parameter refers to the Modbus Master function block. Select the Interface Parameter and press the F2-Key. That will let you select the Modbus Master.
More details can be found in the Communication and Fieldbusses Engineering Reference manual.
Hope that helps
