How to connect TAI16IR to TU880/AI880?
We are planning to connect ABB AI880 with TU845 module to Triguard SC300E TAI16AIR (August FTU).
Since FTU contains 250 OHM resistance, across it will provide voltage.
Planned to connect voltage across resistance ( 1 to 5 V DC ) directly to TU845 to AI880 without using TY801.
I guess you want to connect the AI880 in the J1/2a & 2c terminals, as the below diagram shows. Then a voltage signal should enter the AI880 instead of a current one.
Then you should connect in the IxU(e.g.B2) pin for the positive (J1/2a) and the ZP(e.g.A1) for the negative (J1/2c). If you carefully check the below screenshot from the S800 IO Modules & Termination Units, the voltage input(e.g. I1U, I2U, etc) is used on the AI880 as the signal input and the shunt stick takes care for the current to voltage transformation due to its internal resistors. Removal or diferrent installation of shunt, removes the resistor and the input accepts voltage signals...
