What is your storage parameters for Basic History? Use the Provider Statistics object on each provider to check:
- Number of direct logs
- Number of logs (log count incl secondaries)
What are your Log Templates looking like?
- Parameters for (direct) primary log (min time, period)?
- Parameters for secondary logs (min time, period)?
The Basic History service is specified for a maximum of 10.000 primary logs. We also recommend restricting number of secondary logs to a handful or less (per primary). The total size of all logs for one service provider should be kept below 50 GB - please have the size and number of files containted by the \OperateITData\History\GUID\ folder examined.
Are there any System Events emitted to the [Workplace Structure]Web System Workplace:System Event List when Basic History is starting up, executing normally and later failing?
What is the Basic History process' (advhthistorysrv.exe) apperance in Windows Performance Monitor? How much Processor Time and Virtual Bytes is consumed over time?
Do you have any known "large consumer" of Basic History trend data? A very large client, or a large number of clients could cause the Basic History service to run out of resources. What are your trend clients? Only operator workplaces, or do you have some plant information system (e.g. Smart Client) or reporting system that connects to the history service and download?
