Channel Failure Alarm configuration in 800xA
I'm using 800xA 6.0 (AC800 Connect)
My requirement is,
For all the IO's configured in Hardware (AI/DI), whenever there is a channel failure,
is it possible to generate Alarm by doing some common setting?
I mean i do not want to configure it manually by reading the status of each IO.
Any setting present in Alarm list (Library Structure) to detect channel failure?
Which setting helps to generate Alarm for channel failure of all IO's?
Thanks in Advance
Only the controller can do this for you.
You DONT want to have an Alarm Expression subscribing and doing this for you.
With AC 800M - most (all?) IO loops are monitored in factory standard and will generate alarm on the System Condition Event category, eg when outside 4-20mA. The alarm is raised by firmware, not application.
Agreed with Mr. Stefan.
I have done same two years ago,for reading Hardware IO status for displaying it on Scada screen.(couldn't recall the exact steps I have followed, but i am sharing a bit)
Like we can see status in PLC Hardware IO properties in CBM as " Module ok and Running" OR " UnderCurrent " or " Ovecurrent".
Same, when you are attaching your IO's in 800xA by searching OPC tags, then scroll into your PLC hardware there, and creating new Tags, attach the statuses into these tags.
It will give you values as 0/1/2 as Running/alarm/Fault or Fault/Alarm/Run for your Scada.
