Digivis will show red x after communication break
We have remote sites where the connection has been created by eFive/eWON 3G modem and VPN tunnel.
When the VPN tunnel goes down for a while and then comes back, Digivis will not recognize the connection but instead shows red X over the data. You can ping the remote site's PS from the computer running Digivis.
When Digivis software is shut down and started again, everything is ok.
If the Ethernet cable is disconnected and reconnected, this will not happen. Digivis will start working without restart.
Any idea what could cause this?
Should I set some parameters in Digivis?
We have Freelance 2013.
Seems to me that the VPN tunnel is going down without really breaking the TCP connection. So DigiVis thinks it still has a connection and is trying to use it, but because there is no answer to it's request for variables it shows the red crosses where those variables are used for animation.
Could be, that if you wait for some time the Windows Ethernet stack will find something is wrong and break the connection. Then DigiVis would try to open a new connection like in the case when you remove the Ethernet cable.
I'm not aware of any parameter in DigiVis that could solve that issue. Maybe try another VPN software and see whether the behaviour changes.
